Neighborhoods·St. Petersburg Gay Guide

What is the Gay Neighborhood in St. Petersburg?

St. Petersburg's primary LGBTQ+ neighborhood is the Grand Central District, a vibrant arts-and-entertainment corridor along Central Avenue between 16th and 31st Streets on the city's south side. With over 150 LGBTQ+-owned and allied businesses, it's one of the most concentrated gay districts in the Southeast and the birthplace of St. Pete Pride.

What to Find in Grand Central

The Grand Central District is home to the city's best gay bars, restaurants, and community spaces. Key venues include Cocktail St Pete and The Wet Spot at the Mari Jean Adults Hotel, The Garage on Central, and The Ball. The neighborhood also features LGBTQ+-friendly coffee shops like Black Crow Coffee Co and restaurants like Salty Nun.

Edge District & Downtown

Just east of Grand Central, the Edge District around the 600 block of Central Avenue is home to Enigma, a popular gay bar and lounge. Downtown St. Pete also has a strong LGBTQ+ presence, with the annual Pride parade route running along Bayshore Drive between Albert Whitted Park and Vinoy Park.

Historic Kenwood

The Historic Kenwood neighborhood, just north of Grand Central, is home to Casa del Merman at GayStPete House, a clothing-optional B&B-style guesthouse with a tropical pool. The residential neighborhood has a growing LGBTQ+ community.
