A Davie Village fixture since 2006, 1181 is a small, sharp cocktail bar and dance space — roughly 1,600 square feet, which keeps it intimate even at its busiest. It's home to Sanctuary Sundays, the longest-running weekly drag show on Davie Street, and the room shifts through the night from an early-evening cocktail spot into a house-music dance floor as the weekend gets going. Beyond Sunday, the calendar carries free midweek drag — including a recurring Latin night with salsa lessons — and 1181 keeps one of the lowest covers on the street, so it's an easy add to a Davie crawl rather than a commitment. Shirtless bartenders, a sexy-but-unpretentious crowd, and enough programming to anchor a night without the scale of a big club: it's the in-between room Davie does well.
