Vancouver, British Columbia
Davie Village cornerstone pub since 2000 with 17 taps and one of the strip's best patios
One of the original Davie Village pubs, open since 2000 at the corner of Davie and Burrard — locals just call it 'The Head.' Sixteen draft lines, pool inside, and one of the largest street-side patios on Davie Street, which is the real reason to come: it's the best people-watching seat in the West End, and it fills up the moment the sun's out. This is a daytime-through-evening neighborhood pub, not a late-night club. The kitchen turns out pub food and weekend brunch, and the room runs friendly and unpretentious — the kind of place you sit with a pint and watch the whole Village walk by. If you're starting a night in Davie, it's the natural first stop; if you just want a low-key afternoon in the gayborhood, it's the one to plant yourself at.
