Atlanta, Georgia
Custom leather and fetish gear shop in Ansley Square since 2006.
Barking Leather is a hand-crafted leather and fetish gear shop in the Ansley Square cluster on Piedmont Avenue, where it sits a few doors from Brushstrokes and the neighborhood's other Gay Friendly businesses. Owner Ray Stewart and his husband Tory built the brand out of road shows starting in 2006 before settling into a permanent storefront, and much of the merchandise is still made in-house: harnesses (the shop's biggest sellers), along with floggers, paddles, restraints, vests, kilts, and uniform shirts, most available for custom fitting. Boots and accessories from established national vendors round out the racks. Stewart moved the shop to Ansley Square just before Atlanta Pride 2019, trading a larger former space near Cheshire Bridge for a more intimate storefront in the heart of the gay district. The staff knows the product line well enough to walk a first-timer through options without pressure, which makes it an easy stop whether you're building a first harness or replacing a worn pair of boots.
