Scheunenviertel queer bar with 80s music and red leather decor
Betty F*** is a tiny basement bar on Mulackstraße in Mitte's Scheunenviertel, open since 2006 and named — with a wink — after Betty Ford, the US first lady who founded the famous addiction clinic. The room is barely bigger than a backroom: mirrored walls, red leather seats, deliberately trashy décor, and a sound system that leans on 80s and 90s pop. That smallness is the charm. It's a place to start or end a night out in central Berlin, the kind of spot where a quick last drink turns into staying for the DJ and dancing in a space too cramped to really dance in. The crowd is a friendly queer mix, and the Scheunenviertel address puts it within easy reach of the rest of Mitte's nightlife — less a destination than a reliable, characterful anchor.
