Easygoing men's bar in the heart of Schöneberg
A men's bar on Fuggerstraße in Schöneberg, Berlin's oldest gay neighborhood, a couple of doors from Woof and a short walk from Nollendorfplatz. Open since 1999, Prinzknecht works out of a large, brick-walled room with a long bar and a street-side terrace, and pulls an older, easygoing crowd: a mix of regulars, leather and fetish guys, bears, and visitors who'd rather talk than shout over a dance floor. The motto is "come as a stranger, leave as a friend," and the room mostly lives up to it. Bartenders are friendly, there's no cover and no dress code, and a darkroom sits off the back for anyone who wants it. A regular leather meetup (Leder-Stammtisch) and the occasional puppy gathering give it a steady fetish-scene anchor without ever making it exclusive, and Wednesday brings an early-evening happy hour. It's the relaxed counterpart to the louder clubs nearby, a good first or last stop on a Schöneberg night, and an easy place to land if you're traveling solo and want a bar where conversation is the point.
