Blondies is a gay-owned frozen-cocktail bar in the Zona Romántica, a couple of blocks up from Los Muertos beach, going since 2015. The two-story Púlpito 115 spot is built around its slush bar — a ground-floor counter pouring eight or so rotating frozen-cocktail flavors, takeaway cup in hand — with an open-air loft upstairs done in pop-art and comic-book decor for people who want to sit a while. The signature is the Platinum Blondie, a frozen Cazadores Blanco tequila drink that regulars order on repeat. Volume stays low enough to actually talk, which makes Blondies the daytime-into-early-evening counterpoint to the loud dance bars a few doors over — grab a slushie to walk the strip with, or post up in the loft and watch the Zona go by. A mix of travelers and residents, low-key by design.
