La Cantina Margarita is a casual gay bar on Lázaro Cárdenas, set in the original footprint La Noche occupied before it expanded next door. It's a single room organized around a central circular bar lit by agave-skull chandeliers, with the front open straight to the sidewalk so the people-watching runs both ways. The signature pour is the Pepino — a cucumber margarita — and the rest of the list stays cheap by Zona Romántica standards. That value, plus an early-evening rhythm, makes it a reliable first stop before the strip gets loud: prices that trend lower than the beachfront bars, a crowd that skews mid-30s and up, and a late-night taco truck that's often parked right outside when you need it. Cash only, and no cover.
