Part of the Gay Puerto Vallarta Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
Tiki-inspired open-air gay bar on Lázaro Cárdenas and Vallarta.
Mr. Flamingo is the open-air corner bar at Lázaro Cárdenas and Ignacio L. Vallarta — the literal crossroads of Puerto Vallarta's gay nightlife and the spot most people name as the unofficial meeting point of the Zona Romántica scene. The design is deliberately simple: an open-front, no-windows corner that spills the party out onto the sidewalk, done up tiki-style with bamboo, neon pink flamingos, and music videos on the screens. It starts mellow in the early evening and flips to full party mode by around 10:30, when the corner gets shoulder-to-shoulder. The crowd skews gay men but is genuinely mixed — tourists, locals, allies, all ages — and the open-air format makes it the natural first stop before the indoor clubs. Cash only, and the daily happy hour is part of the ritual.
