Part of the Gay Provincetown Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Provincetown, Massachusetts
Clothing-optional gay stretch of Herring Cove Beach.
Boy Beach is the unofficial name for the far-left stretch of Herring Cove Beach, part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. It's been a gathering spot for gay men in Provincetown for decades — the further left you walk from the Herring Cove parking lot (about 20 minutes), the more relaxed and clothing-optional the scene gets. Nudity isn't technically legal on federal land, but enforcement has been minimal for years. The beach faces west across Cape Cod Bay, which means calmer water than the Atlantic side and some of the best sunsets on the Cape. There are no facilities or vendors at this end, so bring water and supplies. You can also reach it via the well-known "bike fence" shortcut off Province Lands Road.
