Downtown gay bar in the old Scandals space on Harvey Milk Street
Camp is a gay bar on SW Harvey Milk Street in downtown Portland, opened in July 2026 in the space that was Scandals for decades (and the Three Sisters Tavern before that). Logan Whalen, who owns Best Coast Barber across the street, is one of its owners, and the name plays on both "campy" and outdoor camping. The bar's own pitch is a "Gay Cheers" for the street's long-running gay corridor. The week runs on a neighborhood-bar rhythm: a 4-to-7 happy hour every day, a Tuesday game night, Wednesday karaoke and DJs on Sunday afternoons. The kitchen does slow-smoked hot dogs in city styles (Chicago, Detroit Coney, Seattle with cream cheese) alongside cocktails like the Oh Mary!. Scandals itself moved to NE Alberta as Scandals East, so downtown and the east side each have their own spot now.
