Part of the Gay Miami Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Miami, Florida
BIPOC-centered North Miami gay club spinning hip-hop, R&B, and reggae.
CLUBBOI is a BIPOC-centered gay club that's been part of Miami's queer scene since 2002, when it landed as a grittier alternative to the city's white circuit-party world. Miami New Times named it Best Gay Bar in 2003, and the music is still the point: hip-hop, R&B, house, reggae, Latin, and old school instead of trance and EDM. The club has moved around over the years and currently runs as Club Boi at The Villa on NE 125th Street, in what the New Times called the heart of Black Miami. These days the action centers on Saturday nights, the long-running Sexy Saturdays party, so check the schedule before you go since the rest of the week can be dark or booked for private events. The crowd is diverse and the door staff draw consistently good marks. For anyone tired of the South Beach circuit sound, this is the across-the-bay alternative worth the drive.
