Cincinnati, Ohio
Northside's LGBTQ+ bar with goth, fetish nights, and Sunday karaoke.
Mixwells is a bar and discotheque on Spring Grove Avenue in Northside — Cincinnati's LGBTQ+ residential and nightlife neighborhood. The programming rotates through subcultures: Second Circle brings goth and industrial on Thursdays, NOIR runs first-Saturday dark dance nights, GET SOME does monthly nu metal, POWER UP! covers French house and nu disco, and QUENCH is a recurring fetish night. Sunday karaoke with Zack Prost rounds out the week. The space has a small stage, dark interior with flashing lights, and a large outdoor patio with a fire pit. Owner Danny Mixwells also runs cocktail-making classes on the side. Northside is home to several queer bars — Good Judy's, Tillie's, The Birdcage — and Mixwells sits in that ecosystem as the alternative and subcultural nightlife option.

Provincetown is famous for its nightlife, but the daytime is half the magic — gay beaches, whale watching, the Pilgrim Monument, dune tours and a historic art colony. Here's the complete guide to what to do in P-town beyond the bars.
Cherry Grove is where gay America summered before there was a word for it. Here's the complete guide to Fire Island's original queer hamlet — its history, its drag-soaked nightlife, where to stay and eat, the beach, and how it differs from the Pines next door.
