Part of the Gay Palm Springs Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Palm Springs, California
Palm Springs leather and bear bar on Arenas, open daily from 11 AM
Dick's on Arenas is Palm Springs' leather and Levi bar, the only spot on the strip built around that crowd, though the door is open to everyone. It took over the corner space at 301 E Arenas in 2022 from the long-running Eagle 501, keeping the unpretentious, cruisey character of a neighborhood leather bar rather than reinventing it. Gay-owned and locally minded, it hosts events for the leather and bear communities and runs daily drink specials. It anchors the quieter east end of the Arenas District, away from the louder dance bars, and works as much as a daytime hangout as a late-night one. The bartenders keep things casual and judgment-free, and the regulars are happy to fold a visitor into the conversation. If you want the social, low-key end of the Palm Springs scene rather than drag and DJs, this is where to point yourself.
