One Eleven Bar is a gay bar in Cathedral City that four friends bought in 2021 to keep a Coachella Valley institution alive: the space had run as Studio One Eleven since the 1980s, one of California's longest continuously operating gay bars. The new owners gutted and rebuilt it with a midcentury lounge look, upgraded sound, and cohesive branding while keeping the community-first character intact. The calendar leans on live entertainment rather than a dance floor: drag shows hosted by veteran Southern California queen Vanity Halston, live piano-and-vocal nights, weekend drag brunches (Gospel Brunch, Disco Divas, Drag Race themes), karaoke, and bingo. The owners make a point of charging no cover, no show fee, and no drink minimum, which makes it an easy, low-pressure landing spot in the down-valley scene and a friendlier alternative to the bigger Palm Springs nightlife a short drive away.
