Providence, Rhode Island
Providence's LGBTQ+ dance club on Richmond Street, open since 2013.
EGO is Providence's central LGBTQ+ dance club, opened in 2013 on Richmond Street by promoters Rafael Sanchez and the late Chris Harris to make room for the city's Latino, hip-hop, and queer-women communities under one roof. A 2021 remodel upgraded the sound system and lighting, and the result is the closest thing downtown Providence has to a proper big-room nightclub. The week is built on themed nights: Detention Thursdays with the resident EGO Babes drag ensemble, Twerk Fridays, and Saturday dance nights that run late, plus Latin programming that's been part of the club's identity from the start. Entry is 18+, which makes it one of the few rooms in the city pulling a younger, mixed crowd, and a real option when a full dance floor is what the night calls for.
