Fire Island, New York
Seasonal Pines boutique for resort wear, grooming, and home goods.
General Store by BASE is the Pines' curated seasonal boutique, set near the harbor by the Blue Whale and run as a retail project by BASE, founded by Steven Giles. Instead of the usual beach-town convenience rack, it stocks a tightly edited mix of resort and men's apparel, swimwear, grooming, fragrance, and designer housewares, with dozens of labels and some pieces carried exclusively for the Pines. It operates only through the summer season and works on two levels: the practical save for a forgotten travel essential, and the indulgent one for a piece of clothing or a home object you didn't plan to buy. Its rotating inventory makes it a recurring stop for residents and visitors moving between the ferry, the harbor bars, and the beach.
