La Cantina is a gay-friendly karaoke bar and restaurant in Hato Rey, the kind of laid-back neighborhood spot where locals and queer regulars share the mic. The kitchen is borimex, mixing Puerto Rican plates like mofongo and chicharrón with Mexican standards like quesadillas, and prices stay reasonable. Resident host Bertie Sound runs the karaoke, with occasional drag shows rounding out the calendar. It's a casual dining-and-entertainment room rather than a high-energy dance club, drawing a mix of neighborhood regulars and LGBTQ+ patrons. Karaoke nights run Wednesday through Saturday, starting in the evening.
