Provincetown, Massachusetts
Adults-only hilltop inn on Gull Hill with panoramic harbor views since 1926
Land's End Inn sits on Gull Hill at the far western tip of Commercial Street, an 18-room adults-only property built in 1904 and operating as an inn since 1926 — celebrating its centennial in 2026. The building is filled with Art Nouveau details, original stained glass, hand-carved woodwork, and an octagonal primary bedroom. Panoramic views of Provincetown Harbor and Cape Cod Bay stretch from multiple decks and patios. Every owner in the inn's documented history has been gay, from founder Charles Lothrop Higgins through current owners Ed Macri and Trevor Mikula. The couple launched Chalice, a summer lawn wine bar, and the Land's End Foundation supporting local arts and LGBTQ+ communities. The property appeared in the 1974 film 'A Very Natural Thing,' one of the first mainstream films to portray a gay relationship positively.
