Lucky Star Lounge — officially Mr. Sun's Lucky Star Lounge — is a gay dive tucked behind Mr. Sun Liquors at Central Avenue and 28th Street, a little west of St. Pete's main Grand Central cluster. It's the unfussy end of the spectrum: a colorful interior, diner-style booths, a jukebox the regulars run, and a patio out back. There's no stage program to speak of, which is part of the appeal — a low-key local crowd and the kind of room you settle into rather than make an entrance at. Worth knowing about if you want the quiet, lived-in corner of the city's queer scene instead of the busier Grand Central bars.
