Part of the Gay Puerto Vallarta Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
Men-only boutique hotel with courtyard pool, jacuzzi, and 60-piece art gallery
Piñata PV is a men-only boutique hotel one block off the main strip of gay bars in the Zona Romántica, built around a private clothing-optional courtyard with a pool, jacuzzi, and steam room. It's a small property, seven rooms, most of them opening directly onto the pool and bar area, owned and staffed by men, which gives it the feel of a social guesthouse rather than a hotel. A full-service bar runs daily. The architectural centerpiece is an art loft with soaring vaulted ceilings, anchored by a large custom mobile crafted by local Puerto Vallarta artist David Tovar, and there's an open-air rooftop gym above it all. Two upper rooms trade pool access for mountain and city views. It's a good fit for gay male travelers who want a compact, design-minded base steps from the nightlife, and who'd rather have poolside conversation than a big resort, the kind of place where guests tend to meet each other over the course of a stay.
