POP is a gay bar and restaurant in the heart of Walker's Point, and Milwaukee's first new gay bar in over a decade when it opened in 2023. Founded by married couple Marcus Wise and Dan Patterson, it trades the dark-tavern template for a bright, colorful room and a seven-day kitchen — fast-casual shareable plates during the week, brunch on weekends. The drinks list runs from signature cocktails to THC-infused options and zero-proof mocktails, and the calendar stays busy with DJ nights, drag shows, and dance parties. It reads younger and more design-forward than the older bars on the strip, which makes it a natural first stop for a night in the gayborhood — or a daytime one, given the food and the brunch.
