Part of the Gay Milwaukee Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
A Walker's Point gay sports bar with pool tables and a rooftop patio.
Woody's is Milwaukee's only gay sports bar, open since 1997 at the southern end of the 2nd Street strip, where Walker's Point edges into the Clock Tower Acres pocket. The room is built for game day — a wall of TVs, pool tables, and dartboards — with a vintage bar top that's been in place for more than half a century. Locals call it the "Cheers of gay Milwaukee," and the welcome backs it up. Expect a packed house for Packers Sundays, plus Brewers, Bucks, and area college games on the screens the rest of the week. As the last stop on the south end of the Fruit Loop, it works equally well as the place you start a bar crawl or the low-key spot you land in when you'd rather watch the game than chase a dance floor.
