Part of the Gay Pittsburgh Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Neighborhood gay bar by day, dance floor by night, since 2007.
P Town Bar is a neighborhood gay bar on Baum Boulevard near the Bloomfield/North Oakland border, open since 2007 and named for 'P-Town,' shorthand for Pittsburgh. It plays the role of the local Cheers for the city's LGBTQ+ community — a low-pressure room with a pool table, pinball, a digital jukebox, and video screens, where the daytime hang slides into a livelier scene as the night goes on. The crowd is one of Pittsburgh's most mixed: gay, straight, bi, trans, bears, drag queens, and everyone in between, plus plenty of allies. Programming runs deep through the week — drag shows, karaoke, bingo, open-mic nights, and dancing on weekends — so there's usually a reason to drop in. A welcoming, unpretentious pick if you want a real neighborhood bar over a big club.
