Mauckport, Indiana
All-male, members-only camping retreat across the river from Louisville, May through Halloween
Stag Run Club at Overlook Farm is a 21-and-over private, all-male, members-only camping retreat in Harrison County, southern Indiana, a short drive across the Ohio River from Louisville. Its FAQ answers the question directly: trans men are welcome, and the club describes itself as a welcoming and affirming community. The atmosphere is clothing optional, which the club is careful to say is not the same as a sexual atmosphere. Membership is $20 a year and expires at the end of the season. You can stay in a lodge room (the Bonaparte Suite, Wellington Chamber or Knight's Quarters), a glamper camper, a cabin, an RV or trailer site with 30- or 50-amp service and two dump stations but no sewer hookups, or a tent site, with tent rentals available. Posted nightly rates for two, before tax, are $115 to $160 for lodge rooms, $100 to $125 for glampers, $110 to $120 for cabins, $50 to $60 for RV sites and $40 for a tent site, with holiday premiums. Day passes are $20 Thursday through Sunday. The SRC Lodge hosts dance parties, drag and karaoke and has billiards, a community kitchen and a coffee bar; outside there is a heated pool with a wood deck, a hot tub, an infrared sauna, a community grill and a fire pit. The season runs May through Halloween plus special holidays, with an opening weekend at the end of April and a New Year's Eve bash in late December. Pets are welcome on a leash; aggressive breeds are not.

We verified 32 LGBTQ+ campgrounds in the US, from 700-acre men's retreats in the Ozarks to a women-only resort in Michigan's Thumb. This guide covers every one we could verify from the campground's own website: who's welcome, what clothing optional means there, what you can sleep in, what it costs and when the season runs.

After 40 the velvet rope matters less and the pool deck matters more. Here are the six destinations that deliver, the bear weeks and cruises built for a slower pace, and where to stay in each, drawn from our venue listings and event guides.

Leather bar, bear bar, video bar, tea dance, piano bar, dive. Every type of gay bar explained: what it is, how it started, what a night looks like, and how to find one near you.

The practical first-timer's guide to drag: what people actually wear, how much cash to bring, how to hand a tip to a queen without making it weird, and what the room expects of you.

A gay bar is a bar. Here's what actually happens on a normal night, why walking in alone is easier than you think, and how to pick the right one for your first time.
