Two-story lesbian bar at Third and South in Queen Village
Val's Lesbian Bar opened in March 2026 in a two-story building at Third and South Streets in Queen Village, Philadelphia, with a bar on each floor and a side patio. Co-owners and couple Clover Gilfor and Julia Harris spent three years finding the space, and it's the city's first lesbian bar since the Toasted Walnut closed in 2021. Inside it's pink walls, red lighting and long booths, a loose Valentine's Day theme with a DIY dive-bar streak. There's a pool table, a cocktail list with drinks like the Butch Bait alongside draft wine, beer and a real mocktail menu, and an open second floor set up for dancing. It's built for women who love women, and it sits a short walk from the rest of South Street, so it's an easy first or last stop on a night in Queen Village.
