Provincetown Drag Shows — Events
2 upcomingLive from Out x Out — dates, venues and tickets, kept current so you always land on what's actually on.
Provincetown runs on drag. From Memorial Day through the fall, the tip of Cape Cod fills with cabaret rooms, afternoon tea dances and headline drag residencies you won't find anywhere else — and in a town this walkable, you can catch two shows and a tea dance in a single afternoon.
This guide covers where to see drag in Provincetown, the performers who come back summer after summer, and how the season actually runs. For live listings and showtimes, tap through to each venue below — lineups change through the season.

The Art House runs an intimate two-theater cabaret with nightly summer shows. The Crown & Anchor — the town's largest entertainment complex — spreads drag, cabaret and dancing across several rooms. Post Office Cafe & Cabaret pairs a downstairs restaurant with an upstairs cabaret that leans into drag and comedy.
The performers who define a Provincetown summer
Provincetown is known for long-running summer residencies, and familiar names return year after year — Dina Martina's surreal cabaret, Miss Richfield 1981's audience-driven comedy, Varla Jean Merman's musical shows and Thirsty Burlington's Cher tribute among them. Ryan Landry and the Gold Dust Orphans stage their own brand of camp theater. Residencies and lineups shift each season, so check the venue for the current summer's schedule.
When drag season runs
The core season stretches from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day, peaking during Carnival in mid-August — the town's biggest week, when drag spills out of the cabaret rooms and into the streets for the Carnival parade. Shoulder-season theme weekends keep drag going later: Spooky Bear around Halloween and Holly Folly in early December both feature drag and cabaret.
How to get tickets
Most shows sell tickets through the venue's own box office or website, and the popular residencies sell out during peak summer weeks and Carnival. Book ahead when you can, and build in time — Commercial Street moves slowly on a summer night.
