Awaysis is a gay-friendly bar and live music venue on Calle Aquiles Serdán in the Zona Romántica, Puerto Vallarta's LGBTQ+ district. Opened in 2022, it draws a mixed crowd of locals, expats, and travelers with a terrace that has direct sea views — a feature most bars on the strip can't match. The kitchen (called the Chicken Coop) turns out comfort food like Texas burgers and tater tots alongside the cocktail menu. Live music runs Wednesday through Sunday, with karaoke on Tuesdays and trivia on Sundays. Awaysis also hosts a recurring Gay Mixer in partnership with Out & About PV, the local LGBTQ+ magazine. A second air-conditioned location, Awaysis Rio Bar on Ribera del Rio, offers a cooler retreat when the heat gets serious.
