Gay bar and grill with daily 2x1 happy hour on the Zona Romántica strip
The Banana Factory opened in May 2025 on Lázaro Cárdenas, adding a full-scale gay bar and grill to the middle of the Zona Romántica strip. The formula is generous: 2-for-1 on all drinks from open until 9 PM every day of the week, then live shows and themed parties as the night winds up — Saturday bingo is a fixture, and the last Saturday of every month goes full Cowboy Night. The Grill runs the same hours as the bar, turning out gourmet burgers and appetizers, so it's one of the few gay bars in town where you can eat properly without leaving. Doors open at 2 PM Monday through Thursday and 11 AM Friday through Sunday, running until 4 AM nightly — it works as an afternoon happy-hour stop or the late-late end of a bar crawl. Air conditioning, WiFi, and video screens throughout.
