Part of the Gay Montreal Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Montreal, Québec
Gay Village male strip club behind a retro marquee.
Bar Campus is a long-running gay male strip club on Rue Sainte-Catherine Est, a fixture of Montreal's Gay Village for more than 30 years. Behind a facade that still reads like a retro movie theatre, the room opens onto two bars flanking a large raised stage where dancers perform fully nude. The rotating roster tends to run younger during the afternoon shifts and more muscular into the evening, with private dances available in the back. It's an institution of the Village's adult-entertainment strip rather than a dance bar, open daily from mid-afternoon until close on a soundtrack of dance and Top 40. The crowd is mostly men, though women are welcome and Sundays skew that way. For a traveler curious about the Village's old-school cabaret side, it's one of the genre's enduring names — sitting on the same Sainte-Catherine stretch as Stock and Taboo.
