Part of the Gay London Guide — bars, events & things to do.

London, London
King's Cross gay pub, boutique B&B, and fetish basement since 1992.
Gay pub and boutique B&B in King's Cross, open since 1992 under founders Duncan Irvine and Martin Mason. It's the last surviving LGBTQ+ venue in the borough — when it opened, eight other queer spaces operated nearby. The main bar runs karaoke, cabaret, jazz evenings, and drag acts across the week, with a food menu and outdoor seating. A small number of guest rooms operate upstairs. The basement houses The Underground Club, a separate fetish and cruise venue with its own entrance on Balfe Street, running themed nights throughout the week. Central Station opened during the AIDS crisis, survived skinhead attacks in its first year, and nearly closed during the pandemic before a crowdfunding campaign kept it alive. Islington Council has recognized it with a heritage plaque for its role in London's LGBTQ+ history.
