Part of the Gay Puerto Vallarta Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
Sex-positive bear cantina on Basilio Badillo with Mexican devil décor.
Diablitos Cantina is a bear bar on Basilio Badillo, opened in October 2023 by Toñito Castañeda and Ron Thomas in the stretch of the Zona Romántica that's become Puerto Vallarta's bear cluster — it sits a few doors from Studs Bear & Leather Bar, with MistrBear right next door. The room plays up Mexican cantina iconography: a grinning devil logo, neon, and a sex-positive, gay-men's house style. The crowd is bears and the friends who love them. The drinks lean playful and local — tequila with pickle, gin and celery with rosemary syrup, and a deep pour of mezcal — rather than tourist-circuit cocktails. It's a straightforward neighborhood cantina rather than a dance club, which makes it a good early-evening anchor before the Badillo bars fill up. The owners have taken on adjacent space with plans to expand.
