Elixir is a lesbian-owned cocktail bar on Basilio Badillo, opened in 2021 by Elena Esquer Zolezzi, her wife Sarah Rose, and Laura Jaimes. They built it to give queer women a gathering place in a Puerto Vallarta scene that skews heavily toward gay men — though everyone's welcome. The cocktails are the point: a sensory, aromatics-forward take on mixology with real attention to how each drink looks and smells, a clear step up from the blender-and-a-blast bars nearby. The room is small and deliberately intimate, with the music kept at conversation level and seating limited enough that a reservation is smart. Beyond the cocktails there are mocktails, craft and national beer, house wine, and charcuterie boards. Cash only. It's the spot to start a night slowly, or to skip the noise altogether.
