Hillcrest leather and fetish shop — gear, harnesses, and toys.
Gear is San Diego's dedicated leather and fetish shop, the Hillcrest outpost of a Palm Springs brand that opened its flagship there in 2005. The San Diego store opened in 2024 and moved into a larger storefront at 1295 University Avenue, at Richmond Street, in spring 2025, later expanding again into the adjacent space. Inside you'll find leather and neoprene apparel, harnesses, boots, jocks, BDSM gear, toys, and playroom equipment, with a deep bench of brands — Mr. S Leather, Nasty Pig, Cellblock 13, and Breedwell among them. Shop manager Anthony Greika, who held the Mr. San Diego Leather 2010 title and has spent some fifteen years in adult retail, runs the floor as a judgment-free zone built for seasoned players and first-timers alike. It is the rare brick-and-mortar where you can try gear on and get straight answers, which makes it as much a resource for the local kink and leather scene as a store.
