Atlanta, Georgia
Georgia's LGBTQ+ theatre company, staging a full season in West Midtown.
Out Front Theatre Company is Georgia's only professional LGBTQ+ theatre, founded in 2016 by producing artistic director Paul Conroy in a black-box space on Brady Avenue in West Midtown. Across a five-to-six-show season it stages everything from book musicals to comedies and in-house drag parodies, with programming that centers queer stories on their own terms rather than translating them for a straight audience first. The company has grown into an award-winning Atlanta fixture and just wrapped its 10th anniversary season, which leaned hard into queer joy and comedy and opened with a production of 9 to 5. The room is intimate enough that there isn't a bad seat, which suits a company whose work tends to run warmer and funnier than the city's bigger houses. For a traveler, it's the most reliable place in Atlanta to catch theatre made by and for the community.
