Part of the Gay Puerto Vallarta Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
Crown-and-royalty-themed boutique bar where queens come to mingle since 2010.
Reinas — 'Queens' — is a small, royalty-themed gay bar on Lázaro Cárdenas in the Zona Romántica, opened in 2010 by Marcus, a Dutch transplant who's still the heart of the place. The theme is committed all the way: crowns, regal portraits, a crown-shaped mirror, and hats and wigs guests are handed to try on. It's a conversational neighborhood bar, not a dance club, and it draws an older, loyal crowd along with the drag queens who treat it as a regular haunt. The pace is social and a little campy in the best way — people come for a tequila drink, staff who treat them like family, and the local gossip. A good low-key stop between the louder rooms on the strip.
