STUDS is Puerto Vallarta's bear-and-leather bar, on Basilio Badillo just off the Lázaro Cárdenas strip in the Zona Romántica. It opened in 2022 as the city's first venue built specifically for the bear and leather communities and has since grown from a single room into a three-level space, each floor with its own tempo. There's even an in-house gear shop stocking leather, harnesses, and accessories — useful if you arrived under-packed for the theme. The week is organized around community nights rather than a generic party calendar: recurring fixtures have included Bearoke, Trash Disco, Leather and Jockstrap nights, and a Sunday Pup Night, with a long daily happy hour bridging the early evening. It's an unpretentious, conversation-friendly counterweight to the younger circuit-party energy elsewhere on the strip — the place bears, cubs, and their admirers point newcomers toward first.
