Part of the Gay Austin Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Austin, Texas
Austin's leather and fetish bar, a Northeast destination since 2022.
The Austin Eagle is the city's only dedicated leather and fetish bar, opened in 2022 in a commercial strip in Northeast Austin rather than the downtown gayborhood, a destination you drive to on purpose, not a walk-by. It's the home bar for Austin Gears, Austin Bears, and The Foundry ATX, and that clubhouse role shapes the place: a kitchen turning out bar food by day, a dance floor and patio, a bootblack station, and a calendar built around the leather, bear, and kink communities. Programming swings from monthly anchors like Gear Night and the Eagle Queer Market to bear and rubber parties, karaoke, and drag brunches, with kink-themed nights mixed through the week. The Austin Chronicle named it the city's Best LGBTQ Kink Bar in 2023. For a traveler, it's the clearest single window into Austin's leather scene, and the out-of-the-way address means the people there came for the same reason you did.
