Atlanta, Georgia
Small Piedmont Heights dive bar with darts, bingo, and karaoke.
Tripp's is a small gay dive bar in Piedmont Heights that's been pouring since 2000. It's a single room built around a central bar, with a jukebox, flat-screens, three dartboards, and a small porch out back. No dance floor, no pretense. The draw is the regulars and the pricing: drinks are cheap and notably strong, and the crowd is a long-standing neighborhood mix. The weekly rhythm runs to Wednesday bingo and Friday karaoke, with the occasional no-cover weekend party. It works as the low-key counterweight to the bigger Midtown dance clubs a few minutes away, a place to settle in rather than be seen.
