Upscale burger restaurant on Motzstraße in Schöneberg's gay village
Zsa Zsa Burger has been serving burgers on Motzstraße, in the middle of Schöneberg's gay village, since 2011. Owner Ernesto Kuoni opened it to pull the burger out of the junk-food corner, and the kitchen takes that seriously: house patties that run well past the usual beef, including lamb and duck, plus a rotating special that changes every few days, with toppings served on the side so you build your own. The room doesn't read as a burger joint either, between the deer antlers, chandeliers, and whitewashed wood. Given the address, the crowd skews gay and local, and the place has become a dependable Schöneberg fixture rather than a tourist stop. One reviewer's line stuck: "more LGBT than BLT." It's a good sit-down meal before the bars on Motzstraße and Fuggerstraße get going, or a low-key dinner that happens to be in the middle of the neighborhood.
