Key West Pride is intimate, warm, and tropical — a fundamentally different experience from big-city Prides. Instead of million-person crowds and corporate floats, you get an island-wide celebration where the entire community comes together on a few walkable blocks. The 2026 theme, "Color the Island," celebrates identity, creativity, and community — fitting for an island where LGBTQ+ culture has been the culture for over 80 years.
Key West Pride 2026 Calendar
- Wednesday, June 3 — Pride Week Kickoff: The official Pride Kick-Off Party at AquaPlex gets the week started, followed by the Island House Welcome Party at 5 PM. Rainbow flags go up on Duval Street and bars launch Pride-themed specials.
- Thursday, June 4 — Tea on the Sea & Community Events: The Fury "Tea on the Sea" sunset cruise is Thursday's highlight — book in advance, it sells out. Pool parties, film screenings, and community events across the island. Drag shows ramp up at 801 Bourbon and Aqua.
- Friday, June 5 — Pride Night Out: Bar events and parties across Duval Street. Drag shows at 801 Bourbon Bar and Aqua Bar draw big crowds. La Te Da hosts cabaret performances in the Crystal Room.

- Sunday, June 7 — Pride Parade: The parade steps off at 7 PM from Truman Waterfront Park, winding through Whitehead Street, Front Street, and up Duval Street. Afterparties at every bar on Duval follow immediately.
Pride Street Fair — Saturday, June 6 (Duval Street)
The Pride Street Fair is Key West's daytime Pride celebration, filling Duval Street with the energy of the island's LGBTQ+ community and visitors from across the country.
What to expect:
- Live music and DJs on stages along Duval Street
- Drag performances and pop-up shows
- Food and drink vendors from local restaurants and bars
- Community booths from LGBTQ+ organizations, nonprofits, and local businesses
- Art and crafts from local artisans
- The Key West Business Guild coordinating events and resources
Vibe:
The street fair is the relaxed, community-focused side of Pride — the place to wander, eat, drink, and meet people before the bigger party energy of the parade and afterparties on Sunday. It's intimate in a way that big-city Pride festivals can't match. You'll bump into the same people at the fair, then at dinner, then at the bars — that's the Key West magic.
Hours: 4-9 PM on Duval Street
Pro Tip
The street fair starts at 4 PM, but arrive early and grab a drink at one of the Duval Street bars before the crowds peak around 6 PM. The late-afternoon light on Duval is gorgeous for photos.
Key West Pride Parade — Sunday, June 7, 2026
The Key West Pride Parade is the crown jewel of the week — an evening parade through the heart of Old Town that captures everything that makes this island special. One of the parade's most powerful traditions: marchers carry a 100-foot section of the Sea-to-Sea Rainbow Flag, originally created in Key West in 2003 when Gilbert Baker and 2,000 volunteers unfurled a record-breaking 1.25-mile rainbow flag stretching the entire length of Duval Street from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean.
Parade Route
The parade steps off at 7 PM from Truman Waterfront Park and winds through Old Town:
- Start: Truman Waterfront Park (heading north on Whitehead Street)
- North on Whitehead Street past the Hemingway Home
- Right onto Front Street along the waterfront
- Right onto Duval Street heading south through the heart of the LGBTQ+ scene
- End: Lower Duval Street
Best Viewing Spots
- Truman Waterfront Park — Watch the parade assemble and step off. Great for photographers and anyone who wants to see the floats up close before the crowd thickens.
- Whitehead Street near Front Street — The turn from Whitehead onto Front creates a natural bottleneck where floats slow down and performers play to the crowd.
- Upper Duval Street (700-900 block) — The heart of the LGBTQ+ scene. This is where the energy peaks as the parade passes Bourbon Street Pub, Aqua Bar, and 801 Bourbon Bar. The bars spill onto the sidewalks and the crowd is electric.
- La Te Da (1125 Duval) — Near the end of the route, with the hotel's bar and patio offering a more relaxed viewing experience.
Parade Timeline
- 5-6 PM: Early arrivals stake out spots on upper Duval Street. Bars open their patios and start pouring Pride specials.
- 6-7 PM: Energy builds. Pre-parade parties at Bourbon Street Pub, Aqua, and 801 Bourbon get crowded. Street closures begin.
- 7 PM: Parade steps off from Truman Waterfront Park.
- 7:30 PM: The front of the parade reaches Duval Street. The sunset timing is intentional — the sky turns golden as the parade hits its stride.
- 7:30-9 PM: Peak parade energy. Upper Duval is a wall of color, music, and celebration.
- 9 PM-late: Parade winds down and spills directly into La Te Da's legendary Tea Dance — the signature Pride afterparty. DJ Rude Girl spins classic disco in the courtyard as dancers, locals, and visitors flood the space in full rainbow splendor. Meanwhile, every other bar on Duval keeps the party going until close.
Parade Day Tips
- Arrive early for Duval Street spots. The 700-900 block fills fast. Get there by 6 PM for a good sidewalk position.
- Hydrate. Even at 7 PM, Key West in June is hot and humid. Bring water and drink between cocktails.
- Wear comfortable shoes. You'll be standing for 2-3 hours and walking between bars afterward.
- Sunscreen is still relevant. The parade starts at golden hour, but you'll be outside from late afternoon through the evening.
- Bring cash. Street vendors and some bars prefer cash, though most also accept cards.
- Bar viewing option: Bourbon Street Pub, 801 Bourbon Bar, and Aqua all have patios and windows on or near the parade route. Grab a drink and watch from the comfort of a bar stool.
Pro Tip
The evening parade is a Key West masterstroke — instead of baking in midday sun like most Prides, you get golden-hour light, cooler temps, and a seamless transition into afterparties. Position yourself on upper Duval by 6 PM for the best experience.
Best Pride Parties and Events 2026
Pride Week in Key West stretches across five days of pool parties, drag shows, bar events, and late-night dancing. The island's small size means you can hit multiple events in a single night without needing a cab.
Nightlife and Afterparties
During Pride Week, every bar on Duval Street runs special events. These are the ones to prioritize:
- Aqua Bar and Nightclub — Key West's premier nightclub goes all out for Pride Week with special drag shows, DJ sets, and dance parties. The Aquanettes drag show is a nightly highlight. Expect packed dance floors and high energy, especially Friday and Saturday nights.
- 801 Bourbon Bar — The nightly drag shows at 801 Bourbon are a Key West institution, and during Pride they add extra performances and guest performers. The upstairs cabaret room is the place to be. Shows typically start at 9 PM; arrive 30 minutes early for a seat.
- Bourbon Street Pub — The anchor of Key West's gay bar scene. Bourbon Street Pub's open-air garden bar and clothing-optional pool make it the ultimate Pride hangout — day and night. Pride Week pool parties here are legendary.
- La Te Da — For a more sophisticated Pride experience, La Te Da's Crystal Room hosts cabaret performances and comedy shows throughout the week. But the real draw is the Sunday Tea Dance — a tradition dating to 1977 and THE post-parade destination. DJ Rude Girl spins classic disco as the crowd flows in from the parade's endpoint. The courtyard fills with dancers in rainbow splendor. This is where Pride weekend reaches its crescendo.
- Graffiti Key West — Craft cocktails and a stylish atmosphere for those who want a break from the high-energy club scene. A solid spot to start the evening before heading to bigger venues.
- One Saloon — The local hangout on Petronia Street is where you'll find the island's LGBTQ+ regulars during Pride. Pool tables, strong drinks, and the kind of conversation that only happens at a neighborhood bar during a community celebration.
- Bobby's Monkey Bar — Casual, friendly, and a locals' favorite. A great pit stop between bigger venues during a Duval Street bar crawl.
- Sidebar Club 504 — Community-focused bar on Angela Street with Pride Week programming and themed nights.
Pro Tip
Key West's bar scene is concentrated enough that a full Pride bar crawl is completely walkable. Start at La Te Da on lower Duval, work your way north through Bourbon Street Pub, Aqua, and 801, then end the night at One Saloon off Petronia. Total walking distance: about 10 minutes end to end.
Pool Parties
Pool parties are central to Key West Pride — the island's tropical setting and clothing-optional culture create a pool party scene unlike anywhere else.
- Bourbon Street Pub Pool Party — The clothing-optional garden and pool area hosts daily Pride events with DJs, drink specials, and a crowd that ranges from visitors to longtime locals.
- Island House Pool Parties — The men's resort hosts pool events during Pride Week with DJs and a social, body-positive atmosphere. Men only.
- La Te Da Sunday Tea Dance — Sunday afternoon poolside party with a DJ, cocktails, and the post-parade crowd. One of the best Pride afternoon experiences in Key West.
Daytime Activities
Pride Week isn't only about nightlife. Key West's natural beauty makes daytime just as memorable:
- Blu Q Catamaran — LGBTQ+ sailing excursions including sunset sails and snorkel trips. During Pride Week, special sailings bring the celebration onto the water. Book in advance — Pride sailings fill fast.
- Sunset at Mallory Square — The nightly Sunset Celebration takes on extra energy during Pride Week. Street performers, food vendors, and the crowd cheering the sunset. Free and unforgettable.
- Higgs Beach — Key West's LGBTQ+-friendly beach is the place for daytime recovery. Volleyball, swimming, and people-watching with a rainbow crowd.
- Fort Zachary Taylor Beach — The best snorkeling on the island. Walk to the far left for the unofficial gay section (affectionately known as "Fort Liz Taylor").
- Hemingway Home & Museum — The six-toed cats don't care about Pride, but the gardens are beautiful and the tours are entertaining. A solid morning activity before the afternoon pool scene.
- Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory — A peaceful counterpoint to Duval Street energy. Thousands of butterflies in a glass-enclosed tropical garden.

Where to Stay for Key West Pride
Pride Week is one of Key West's busiest periods. LGBTQ+ guesthouses sell out first — book 4-6 weeks in advance for the best options.
LGBTQ+ Guesthouses (Best for Pride)
These properties put you in the heart of the celebration with a built-in community of fellow Pride visitors:
- Island House — Key West's premier gay men's resort with clothing-optional pool, hot tub, gym, and social events. During Pride Week, the pool parties and common areas become the center of the men's scene. Book early — this sells out.
- Alexander's LGBTQIA+ Guesthouse — Inclusive guesthouse on Fleming Street welcoming all LGBTQ+ travelers. Beautiful gardens, heated pool, and a 5-minute walk to Duval. One of the few guesthouses that explicitly welcomes the entire community, not just men.
- New Orleans House — Clothing-optional, adults-only, directly above Bourbon Street Pub. You literally cannot be closer to the Pride action. The rooftop sundeck has views of Duval Street.
Hotels Near the Action
For travelers who prefer a traditional hotel experience, these options are centrally located and walking distance to all Pride events:
- The Marker Waterfront Resort — Upscale harbor-front hotel with a rooftop pool. Walking distance to Truman Waterfront Park (parade start) and Duval Street.
- Hyatt Centric Key West — Modern hotel on Duval Street with a rooftop pool and bar. You'll hear the parade from your room.
- Margaritaville Beach House Resort — Full resort amenities and a beach location. A short walk to the action.
- Casa Marina, A Waldorf Astoria Resort — Historic beachfront luxury. Further from Duval but a beautiful retreat.
Budget Tips
- Vacation rentals in Old Town put you close to everything. Check VRBO and Airbnb — but book early, as inventory is limited on a small island.
- New Town hotels offer lower rates. Smathers Beach properties are a short bike ride from Duval.
- Stock Island (just over the bridge) has the Perry Hotel and other options at lower price points.
Pro Tip
LGBTQ+ guesthouses sell out 4-6 weeks before Pride. If the island is booked, consider properties in Marathon or Big Pine Key (30-50 minutes away) and driving in for the parade and evening events. Or check the Key West Express ferry for a day trip from Fort Myers Beach.

Getting There and Getting Around
Getting to Key West
- By Air: Key West International Airport (EYW) has direct flights from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte, and other cities. The airport is 10 minutes from Old Town by cab or rideshare.
- By Car: 3.5-4 hours from Miami via US-1 (the Overseas Highway). One of the most scenic drives in America — 42 bridges, turquoise water, and the Seven Mile Bridge. Leave early on Friday to avoid traffic.
- By Ferry: Key West Express runs from Fort Myers Beach — a 3.5-hour cruise across the Gulf of Mexico.
Getting Around During Pride
- Walk. Everything happens on or near Duval Street, which is about a mile long. You won't need transportation between bars, the street fair, and the parade route.
- Bike. The best way to get around Key West year-round. Rental shops are everywhere ($15-25/day). Lock it up when you hit Duval — bike theft happens during busy events.
- Scooter. Fun for getting to beaches or further-flung restaurants, but not necessary for Pride events.
- No car needed. Parking during Pride is a nightmare. If you drove to Key West, park at your hotel and leave it there.
Road Closures
Duval Street and surrounding blocks close for the parade on Sunday evening. If you're driving to an event, plan to park in New Town and walk or bike in. Most of the action is in the same few blocks, so once you're on foot, you're set.
Pro Tip
Rent a bike for the week. Key West is flat, small, and bike-friendly. You can ride from your hotel to Higgs Beach in the morning, Mallory Square at sunset, and Duval Street at night without breaking a sweat. Well — maybe a little sweat. It's June in the tropics.

Is the Key West Pride Parade free?
Yes. The parade is free to attend from anywhere along the route. The Pride Street Fair on Saturday is also free. Some individual bar events and pool parties during Pride Week may have cover charges.
Where is the best place to watch the Key West Pride Parade?
For peak energy, position yourself on upper Duval Street between the 700 and 900 blocks — this is the heart of the LGBTQ+ scene, where bars like Bourbon Street Pub, Aqua, and 801 Bourbon spill onto the sidewalks. For a more relaxed view, watch from La Te Da on lower Duval or catch the parade stepping off at Truman Waterfront Park.
How do I get to Key West Pride?
Fly into Key West International Airport (EYW) — 10 minutes from Old Town. Or drive from Miami (3.5-4 hours) via US-1 Overseas Highway. The Key West Express ferry runs from Fort Myers Beach. Once on the island, everything is walkable or bikeable. No car needed for any Pride events.
What should I wear to Key West Pride?
Whatever makes you feel fabulous. Key West in early June means highs around 88°F with humidity, so dress light. Tank tops, shorts, swimwear, and sandals are standard. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses — even for the evening parade. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for bar-hopping on Duval's uneven sidewalks.
Is Key West Pride family-friendly?
The daytime street fair and parade are welcoming to all ages. Many families attend and the atmosphere is joyful and celebratory. Nightlife on Duval Street after the parade is more adult-oriented. Some pool parties and bar events are 21+ or men-only — check individual event details.
Where should I stay for Key West Pride?
LGBTQ+ guesthouses like Island House (men's), Alexander's (all LGBTQ+), and New Orleans House (men's, above Bourbon Street Pub) are the most immersive Pride experience — but they sell out fast. Book 4-6 weeks ahead. Hotels like the Marker Waterfront Resort, Hyatt Centric, and Margaritaville are all walking distance to Duval. For budget options, check New Town hotels or Stock Island's Perry Hotel.
How is Key West Pride different from big-city Prides?
Key West Pride is intimate and tropical — about 10,000 attendees instead of a million. The entire celebration fits on a few walkable blocks. There are no corporate mega-floats or VIP sections separating you from the party. The evening parade means cooler temps and sunset light. And the island's 80+ years of LGBTQ+ history mean Pride here feels less like a branded event and more like a community celebration. Plus, you can walk from the parade to a pool party to a drag show to the beach — all in flip-flops.
Key West Pride is unlike any other — a celebration at the edge of America, where the parade ends at sunset, the afterparty is the entire island, and the community that built this place shows up to color every corner of it. Come see what Pride feels like in paradise.
