Neighborhoods·Palm Springs Gay Guide

What is the Gay Neighborhood in Palm Springs?

Palm Springs' primary gay district is the Arenas Road District, a compact stretch of East Arenas Road in downtown between Indian Canyon Drive and Calle Encilia. Marked by rainbow crosswalks and pride flags, Arenas Road is home to the city's densest concentration of gay bars, restaurants, and shops — making it one of the most walkable gayborhoods in the country.

What to Find on Arenas Road

Arenas Road is where the nightlife happens. Key venues include Hunters Palm Springs (dance floor and drag shows), Chill Bar (go-go dancers and themed events), Blackbook (creative cocktails and 400+ whiskeys), QUADZ (music videos and sing-along nights), and Dick's on Arenas (laid-back patio bar with a Levi/Leather vibe). Shops like GayMart and Peepa's round out the strip.

Warm Sands

Just south of downtown, the Warm Sands neighborhood is home to a collection of gay-owned clothing-optional resorts and guesthouses. Properties like Triangle Inn, Inndulge Palm Springs, Santiago Resort, and Vista Grande Resort offer pool parties, tropical gardens, and a relaxed atmosphere within walking distance of Arenas Road nightlife.

Cathedral City

The adjacent city of Cathedral City also has a notable LGBTQ+ presence with its own bars and community spaces, expanding the greater Palm Springs gay scene beyond the core downtown area.
