Stockbridge, Michigan
Members-only men's campground with 145 sites, a heated pool and a dance club between Lansing and Ann Arbor
CreekRidge is a private, membership-only campground for gay and bisexual men 21 and older on 60 wooded acres between Lansing and Ann Arbor, about an hour and a half from Detroit by the campground's own estimate. It opened in June 2016 and has grown to 145 sites: seasonal RV lots, primitive tent sites, tent sites with water and electric, and 30/50-amp RV sites laid out at roughly 40 by 50 feet with angled pull-ins for bigger rigs. Rentals are a rental RV, a standard and a deluxe cabin and a bunkhouse that sleeps six. Clothing is optional in designated areas, including the heated pool and the shower house, and standard clothing rules apply elsewhere. Membership is required for every guest: $25 the first year and $15 to renew in 2026. Day passes are $15 Monday to Thursday and $20 Friday to Sunday, bought in person before 5 PM, with an extended pass to 1 AM at $25 and a $10 surcharge on holiday and event weekends. 2026 nightly rates start at $15 per person for primitive tent camping and $55 for a trailer site, with cabins at $120 and $150. The camp has a gated office, a laundry, an updated shower house, Club Solitude for dancing, hiking trails on 20 of the acres and two fishing ponds. There is a themed weekend nearly every week from the end of April to mid-October, GLOW among them. Pets stay leashed, out of buildings and the pool area, and cost $25 extra in cabins.

We verified 32 LGBTQ+ campgrounds in the US, from 700-acre men's retreats in the Ozarks to a women-only resort in Michigan's Thumb. This guide covers every one we could verify from the campground's own website: who's welcome, what clothing optional means there, what you can sleep in, what it costs and when the season runs.

After 40 the velvet rope matters less and the pool deck matters more. Here are the six destinations that deliver, the bear weeks and cruises built for a slower pace, and where to stay in each, drawn from our venue listings and event guides.

Leather bar, bear bar, video bar, tea dance, piano bar, dive. Every type of gay bar explained: what it is, how it started, what a night looks like, and how to find one near you.

Circuit parties are the big dance weekends on the gay calendar. Here's what they are, where the name came from, what actually happens, what to wear, and which one to pick first.

The practical first-timer's guide to drag: what people actually wear, how much cash to bring, how to hand a tip to a queen without making it weird, and what the room expects of you.

A gay bar is a bar. Here's what actually happens on a normal night, why walking in alone is easier than you think, and how to pick the right one for your first time.
