Soho is a gay lounge on Nine Mile Road in downtown Ferndale, the Detroit suburb that has long doubled as the metro area's LGBTQ+ hub. It has been open since 2004, with high ceilings, metallic silver Warhol-style walls, and a red-lit room centered on a Versace red pool table near the door. It's the stylish-but-casual end of the Ferndale scene rather than a dance club. The week is built around karaoke on Sundays and Wednesdays, with 'Wines on Nine' wine nights on Tuesdays and signature martinis the rest of the time, drawing a loyal mix of gay and lesbian regulars. Easy to fold into a Nine Mile bar crawl, and a calmer place to land when you don't want a packed floor.
