Saugatuck, Michigan
LGBTQ+-owned woodblock-print art studio and coffee shop in Douglas.
Part art studio, part boutique, part coffee shop, and entirely good vibes. Woosah is the creative brainchild of artist and LGBTQ+ business owner Rae Lang, who hand-carves original woodblock prints and turns them into nature-inspired apparel, hats, blankets, towels, and art. The Douglas shop at 450 West Center Street doubles as a gallery supporting independent artists and a café serving premium handcrafted coffee, hot chocolate, and vegan ice cream out of a converted box truck parked in the community garden out front — humans welcomed, dogs encouraged. You can also rent bikes, beach chairs, and umbrellas here for your day at the lake. Rae and her wife Kelly opened the Douglas location in 2022 after years of driving out to Saugatuck Dunes State Park to decompress. The word "woosah" itself means that feeling of calm amid chaos — take a deep breath in, exhale, and you're there.
