Texas Bear Round-Up is the Dallas Bears' annual four-day run, and TBRU 31 is set for Thursday, March 25 to Sunday, March 28, 2027 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. The 2027 theme is Bears of the Zodiac. The organizers have confirmed the dates, the host hotel and the registration date; the day-by-day schedule and prices had not been published when this guide went up, so the weekend shape below comes from how recent editions ran. We will update this page as the official schedule lands.
Pro Tip
Set a reminder for noon Central on November 5. The Hyatt sold out on peak nights in past years, and the hotel block is tied to registration, so the room goes to people who register early.
TBRU is a hotel-based event. The Hyatt Regency is the badge pickup, the vendor market, the hospitality suite, the receptions and the Saturday dinner, and the Dallas Bears run shuttle buses between the hotel and the Cedar Springs gayborhood for the off-site parties. The organizers describe the program as more than 30 events a day across the four days, mixing daytime socials and classes with the big-ticket nights.
This is the shape the last several editions followed. Treat it as expected rather than confirmed until tbru.org posts the 2027 schedule.
Badge pickup and the first-timers meet and greet start the weekend, and the evening has carried a kick-off party with a costume contest at the host hotel. Five Star VIP registrants get a Thursday evening reception of their own. The hospitality suite, an open-bar converted ballroom at the hotel, opens on the first night and runs nightly through the weekend.
Daytime at the hotel means the vendor market (past editions listed more than 60 vendors on the lower level), Bears University classes, game shows and bear bingo, plus receptions for Black, Asian and Latino bears. Friday night is BearDance at S4 on Cedar Springs, the weekend's signature dance party and a fundraiser in its own right. It has run from the evening into the early hours, with a dedicated shuttle service running through the night. BearDance has raised more than $725,000 since 2009 according to the organizers.
Saturday evening is the Family Dinner at the hotel, followed by the Mr. TBRU contest and the underwear auction. Recent editions paired the dinner with a headline performer (Nina West in 2025, Darienne Lake in 2024) and a late hospitality party afterward. Five Star VIPs get early entry to the dinner and a private meet and greet with the primary entertainer.
The weekend closes with the farewell Texas BBQ and closing ceremony at the Round-Up Saloon, then "Church" at the Hidden Door, the Sunday Funday that has ended every TBRU in the editions we could find. Both are in or near the Oak Lawn gayborhood, a short shuttle or rideshare from the hotel.
Pro Tip
The run pass covers the hotel program. BearDance and the Saturday show have been sold as add-ons in past years, so budget for them separately when registration opens.
Online registration for TBRU 31 opens Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 12 PM Central at tbru.org. Each attendee has to register on their own registration page; there is no group registration. Prices for 2027 were not published when this guide went up.
The Five Star VIP upgrade is per person and, per the organizers, includes expedited badge pickup, the Thursday and Friday evening receptions, early entry to the Saturday Family Dinner and a private meet and greet with the primary entertainer. The first 200 VIP registrants who also book a hotel room get a premium city-view room at the Hyatt.

The Hyatt Regency Dallas at 300 Reunion Blvd is the whole point of staying on site: the hospitality suite, vendor market and Saturday dinner are all inside the building, and the shuttles leave from the door. Rooms are booked through Connections Housing (TBRU@connectionshousing.com, 702-476-6976, Monday to Friday 8 AM to 3 PM Central) and only by registered attendees. In 2024 the organizers announced the Hyatt had sold out on peak nights and added an overflow deal at the Holiday Inn Express across the street, served by the same shuttles; whether that repeats for 2027 has not been announced.
If you miss the block, downtown and Design District hotels put you a few minutes from Reunion and about ten minutes from Cedar Springs.
Pro Tip
The Hyatt is downtown by Reunion Tower, not in the gayborhood. Cedar Springs Road is about three miles north. The TBRU shuttles cover the official parties; for anything else, a rideshare runs about ten minutes.
The off-site program lives on Cedar Springs Road in Oak Lawn, and the bars fill with TBRU badges from Thursday on. These are the venues that show up in the TBRU program year after year.

The Dallas Bears, a 501(c)(3) founded in 1993, have produced the Round-Up every March since 1995, and the organizers say TBRU and BearDance together have raised more than $1 million for local charities. Recent editions: TBRU 28 "The Roaring 20's" in March 2024 raised $165,000 for local charities; TBRU 29 "Bears in Wonderland" ran March 13–16, 2025 with Yvie Oddly at BearDance and Nina West at the Saturday show; TBRU 30 "Roman Holiday Triumph" ran March 12–15, 2026. TBRU 31 moves the weekend to late March.
Texas Bear Round-Up 31 is Thursday, March 25 through Sunday, March 28, 2027.
