Montreal, Québec
Montréal's landmark island park, home to Piknic Électronik.
Parc Jean-Drapeau is a 268-hectare park on two islands in the St. Lawrence River, built for Expo 67 and the 1976 Olympics. The grounds hold the Biosphere (Buckminster Fuller's geodesic dome), the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix circuit, La Ronde amusement park, Casino de Montréal, a public beach, and 25-plus kilometers of trails. The Jean-Drapeau metro station connects directly to downtown in about five minutes. Summer weekends bring Piknic Électronik, a long-running outdoor electronic music party with a strong following in Montreal's LGBTQ+ community. The park also hosts Osheaga and other major festivals through the season.
