For the first time ever, the festival is moving to downtown Dallas — spanning four city parks — and the parade is going nighttime, marching down Main Street at sunset with lighted floats, bands, and over 120 entries. It's the biggest shake-up in Dallas Pride's 50+ year history, and it's going to be spectacular.

Dallas Pride Festival — June 6 (Downtown)
The Dallas Pride Festival of Rainbows transforms four downtown parks into a massive, free, all-day celebration running from 11 AM to 10 PM. This is the first year in downtown Dallas — previous years were held at Fair Park — and the new location puts Pride in the heart of the city.
The Four Parks
- Main Street Garden Park — Main Stage festival with headliner performances, food vendors, and the largest gathering area
- Pacific Plaza — Community Festival with local organizations, advocacy groups, and community programming
- Harwood Park — Teen Pride & Family Pride with a family-friendly stage, activities for kids and teens
- Pegasus Plaza — VIP Parade Experience with premium viewing, private bars, shaded seating, and special merchandise
What to Expect
- Free admission for all general festival areas
- Multiple stages with performers, DJs, and interactive presentations
- Food and drink vendors throughout the parks
- Community organizations and sponsor activations
- Teen Pride programming and family-friendly activities
- VIP experience available at Pegasus Plaza (ticketed)
The festival runs all day, building energy toward the nighttime parade at 7 PM. Arrive in the early afternoon to explore the parks, grab food, and secure your parade viewing spot before sunset.
Pro Tip
The festival runs 11 AM to 10 PM — a full 11-hour day. Pace yourself. Hit the community areas at Pacific Plaza and Harwood Park earlier in the day when it's cooler, then migrate toward Main Street Garden and Main Street for the parade at sunset.
Dallas Pride Nighttime Parade — June 6
This is the one everyone's talking about. For the first time in Dallas history, the Pride Parade is marching at sunset — a lighted extravaganza down Main Street through downtown from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
What's New
The nighttime format is a deliberate choice. Lighted floats, illuminated costumes, and neon displays hit differently after dark. With over 120 entries including inventive floats, bands, marching groups, and community organizations, this is going to be a visual spectacle that daytime parades can't match.
Parade Route
The parade marches down Main Street through downtown Dallas, connecting the four festival parks. The exact cross-street route map hasn't been published yet — check dallaspride.org for the final map as the date approaches.
Best Viewing Spots
- Along Main Street between the festival parks — free viewing from anywhere along the route
- Pegasus Plaza — VIP parade viewing experience with shaded seating, private bars, and dedicated restrooms (ticketed)
- Near Main Street Garden Park — The main stage area, likely the most energetic stretch with music and crowd energy before and after the parade
Crowd Timeline
- 5:00–6:00 PM: Crowds start building along Main Street. Festival energy shifts from the parks toward the parade route
- 6:00–6:30 PM: Secure your viewing spot. Good positions along Main Street fill up. VIP viewers should be at Pegasus Plaza
- 7:00 PM: Parade steps off. The sunset timing means floats and costumes are illuminated as the sky darkens
- 7:00–9:00 PM: Peak parade energy. The lighted floats, music, and crowd create a unique nighttime atmosphere
- 9:00 PM–late: Parade ends. Afterparties at Cedar Springs bars kick into high gear. Festival continues at Main Street Garden until 10 PM
Parade Day Tips
- Arrive early for your spot. Main Street viewing is free but the best positions fill by 6:30 PM
- Hydrate aggressively. Even at sunset, June temperatures will still be in the mid-80s. Drink water throughout the day
- Wear comfortable shoes. You'll be on your feet for hours across multiple parks
- Bring sunscreen for the day festival. The parade is at sunset, but the festival starts at 11 AM in full Texas sun
- Bring a portable charger. Long day + photos + maps = dead phone
- Plan your afterparty transport. Cedar Springs is about 10 minutes from downtown by rideshare. Expect surge pricing after 9 PM — consider having a rideshare scheduled or walk to the nearest DART station
Pro Tip
The nighttime parade is going to be a very different energy from daytime parades. Bring your phone fully charged — lighted floats after dark make for incredible photos and videos.
Purple Party Weekend — April 30 – May 4
Purple Party Weekend is Dallas's premier circuit event and one of the biggest LGBTQ+ party weekends in the South. The 2026 theme is "Purple Odyssey: Jungle" — five days of pool parties, dance events, and afterhours across Dallas, with all profits benefiting LGBTQ+ organizations.
The Schedule
Eleven events over five days:

- AFTERGLOW XL — Final afterhours (GA)
Tickets and Logistics
- Individual events: Starting from $29.99
- VIP Everything Pass: $539.99 (plus taxes/fees) — access to all 11 events
- Host Hotel: Dallas Marriott Suites Market Center
- Main venues: Gilley's Dallas and South Side Ballroom for nighttime events; host hotel pool for daytime parties
- Charitable: 100% volunteer-run. All profits go to organizations serving the Dallas LGBTQ+ community
Purple Party draws a national crowd — if you're into the circuit scene, this is one of the top weekends on the calendar.
Pro Tip
The VIP Everything Pass is the best value if you're planning to attend multiple Purple Party events. Individual VIP tickets add up fast. Buy early — prices increase as events approach.
Dallas Southern Pride — Juneteenth Weekend (June)
Dallas Southern Pride is one of the largest celebrations of Black LGBTQ+ culture in the United States, intentionally tied to Juneteenth — which originated in Texas (Galveston, 1865). The event draws approximately 15,000 attendees annually, making it the largest Black gay pride event in the state.
Typical Schedule
Specific 2026 dates haven't been announced yet (likely June 18–22), but the structure follows this pattern:
- Thursday (Juneteenth): Health Symposium + "Thirsty Thursday" welcome party
- Friday: Welcome Reception at The Statler Dallas + "Invades Dallas" main party
- Saturday: Juneteenth Unity Festival & Pool Party at The Village Dallas Beach Club
- Sunday: Closing events
What to Expect
Pool parties, live performances, cultural programming, wellness events, and high-energy nightlife. The host hotel (Crowne Plaza Downtown Dallas) serves as the official meet-up and gathering point throughout the weekend.
Check dallassouthernpride.com for 2026 dates and ticket information.
Pride in Bloom — June 13 (Dallas Arboretum)
A different kind of Pride celebration — Pride in Bloom brings the LGBTQ+ community together at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden for live performances, artisan vendors, chef demonstrations, and community activities set among 66 acres of spectacular gardens.
Now in its 5th year, this is a daytime event that's perfect for couples, families, or anyone wanting a more relaxed Pride experience outside the bar scene. Check dallasarboretum.org for 2026 tickets and schedule.
Dallas Arts District PRIDE Block Party — June 19
A free block party at Harwood and Flora Streets in the Arts District, running from 6 PM to midnight on Juneteenth. Live music, Round-Up Saloon line dancing, gourmet food, artist-makers, a community mural, and family-friendly activities — all free admission.
Partner museums including the Crow Museum of Asian Art, Dallas Museum of Art, and Nasher Sculpture Center host special programming during the event.
Pro Tip
The Arts District Block Party on Juneteenth is a unique Dallas experience — where else can you two-step with the Round-Up crew, see world-class museums, and eat gourmet food vendors all in one free evening?
Pride in Dallas — September 13–20 (Cedar Springs)
While the June celebration has moved downtown, the original neighborhood Pride on Cedar Springs is alive and well. Pride in Dallas runs a full week of events on The Strip, culminating in the Michael Doughman Parade on Cedar Springs — named in honor of the longtime executive director of the Dallas Tavern Guild who organized the original Cedar Springs parades for decades.
Pride Week Events (September 13–20)
- Sunday Sept 13: Pride Week Brunch at the Tap House (kickoff)
- Monday: Happy hours at the Round-Up Saloon
- Tuesday: Show Tunes at Woody's
- Wednesday: Singles Night at JR's
- Thursday: Late Night Party at Lava
- Friday: Rainbow Road Bar Crawl along all gay bars on Cedar Springs
- Saturday: Special late night Pride event at Station 4
- Sunday Sept 20: Michael Doughman Parade on Cedar Springs (2:00–4:00 PM) + After Party (4:00–6:00 PM)
The Michael Doughman Parade on Cedar Springs
When: Sunday, September 20, 2026, 2:00–4:00 PM Where: Cedar Springs Road, from Douglas Avenue to Oak Lawn Avenue Theme: "Pride Lives Here"
This is the grassroots, community-driven Pride that's been happening on Cedar Springs since the 1980s. The parade is smaller and more intimate than the June celebration, marching right through the heart of the gayborhood. The after party runs 4:00–6:00 PM, then the bars take over for the rest of the night.
June vs. September: Which Pride Should You Attend?
- June (Dallas Pride downtown): The big, citywide celebration — festival across four parks, nighttime parade, tens of thousands of attendees, national-scale event
- September (Pride in Dallas on Cedar Springs): The neighborhood celebration — week-long bar events, community-intimate parade through the gayborhood, the bars ARE the event
If you can only make one, June is bigger and more festival-like. September is more local, bar-centric, and community-intimate. If you can make both — do it. They're completely different experiences.
Pro Tip
The Rainbow Road Bar Crawl on Friday of Pride Week is the best single night to experience Cedar Springs. Every bar on The Strip participates, and the crawl takes you end to end. Pace yourself — there are a LOT of bars.

Best Pride Parties and Nightlife
Cedar Springs Bars During Pride
During Pride season, every bar on Cedar Springs throws special events. These are the ones to prioritize:
- Round-Up Saloon — The legendary country-western gay bar goes all out for Pride with line dancing, drag shows, and extended hours. The energy here during Pride Week is unmatched — cowboys, drag queens, and first-time two-steppers all sharing the dance floor.
- Station 4 (S4) — Dallas's mega-club with DJs, laser shows, and late-night dancing. Home of The Rose Room. S4 hosts the Saturday night Pride event during Cedar Springs Pride Week and packs out on June Pride weekend.
- The Rose Room — Inside S4, The Rose Room's high-production drag shows are a must during Pride. Expect bigger casts, extended shows, and a packed house. One of the most famous drag venues in the South.
- JR's Bar & Grill — The classic Cedar Springs bar hosts Singles Night during Pride Week and is a reliable happy hour and pre-party destination all season.
- Sue Ellen's — Texas's oldest lesbian bar brings live music and a diverse crowd to Pride. Two floors, multiple events, and a community anchor that's been here for decades.
- TMC: The Mining Company — Multi-level club with DJs, two patios, and a spacious dance floor. Open daily from 2 PM, so it's great for day-drinking during Pride and dancing late into the night.
- Dallas Woody's — Sports bar vibes on Cedar Springs. Show Tunes night during Pride Week is a neighborhood tradition.
Beyond the Bars
- Dallas Eagle — The leather and bear bar in the Design District hosts themed Pride events. Worth the 10-minute rideshare from Cedar Springs for a different scene.
- Kaliente — Latin music, drag shows, and a high-energy dance floor on Maple Avenue. Saturday night during Pride is peak energy.
Daytime Activities
Pride isn't all nightlife. Build some daytime recovery and culture into your weekend:
- Pride in Bloom at Dallas Arboretum (June 13) — LGBTQ+ celebration among the botanical gardens with live performances and artisan vendors
- Cedar Springs shopping — Browse Skivvies, Pride Gifts, Out of the Closet, and the other queer-owned shops on The Strip
- Hunky's Old Fashioned Hamburgers — A Cedar Springs institution since 1984. The best post-party recovery burger and milkshake in Oak Lawn
- Brunch at Roy G's — Queer-owned restaurant on Cedar Springs with loaded fries and a colorful atmosphere
Where to Stay for Dallas Pride
For June Pride (Downtown)
The June festival and parade are downtown for the first time, so staying downtown or in Uptown puts you closest to the action — with easy access to Cedar Springs for afterparties.
Downtown
Best base for the festival and parade. Walk to all four parks and the parade route.
Uptown
Adjacent to both downtown and Oak Lawn. The sweet spot — close to the festival by day and Cedar Springs by night.
For September Pride (Cedar Springs)
Stay in Oak Lawn for September Pride — everything happens on The Strip and you can walk to every event.
The Warwick Melrose is the most "in the gayborhood" hotel in Dallas — a 3-minute walk from Round-Up Saloon and right in the heart of Oak Lawn.
For Any Pride Weekend
Uptown is the all-around best choice. It's walkable to Oak Lawn, a quick M-Line Trolley or rideshare to downtown, and has the best selection of mid-range and upscale hotels near both celebration zones.
Vacation Rentals
Airbnb and vacation rentals in Oak Lawn and Uptown are excellent for groups and longer stays. Look for listings within walking distance of Cedar Springs Road. Popular places in these neighborhoods book up 3–4 weeks before Pride — plan ahead.
Pro Tip
Dallas hotel rates are significantly cheaper than coastal cities, even during Pride. Uptown hotels often run under $200/night in June. The Warwick Melrose in Oak Lawn is the best location for Cedar Springs nightlife.

Getting There and Getting Around
From the Airports
- Dallas Love Field (DAL): Southwest Airlines hub, only 10 minutes from Oak Lawn and 15 minutes from downtown. A rideshare to Cedar Springs runs about $15–20. Fly into Love Field if you can — it's significantly more convenient
- DFW International Airport (DFW): About 30 minutes from downtown/Oak Lawn. Rideshare runs $30–45. DART Orange Line connects to downtown, but you'll still need a rideshare to Oak Lawn from there
Getting to Downtown (June Pride)
- DART Light Rail: Akard and St. Paul stations are closest to the festival parks. All color lines connect downtown. Day pass is $6. Use the GoPass app
- Rideshare: From Oak Lawn/Cedar Springs, downtown is about 10 minutes. Expect surge pricing after the parade ends at 9 PM
- Walking/Scooters: If you're in Uptown, downtown is a 20–30 minute walk or a quick scooter ride
- M-Line Trolley: Free vintage streetcar connecting Uptown to the Arts District. Runs along McKinney Avenue, 7 days a week
- Parking: Abundant downtown parking in garages and surface lots. Use the ParkMobile app for meters. Arrive early to snag spots closest to the parks
Getting Around Cedar Springs (September Pride)
- Walking: Cedar Springs is extremely walkable — every bar is within a 15-minute walk. This is the best way to experience Pride Week and the parade
- Rideshare: Uber and Lyft from downtown or Uptown to Cedar Springs is under 10 minutes
- DART: Cityplace/Uptown station is walkable to the north end of Oak Lawn
- Parking: Street parking on Cedar Springs is tight during Pride Week. Use side streets or DART park-and-ride lots
Pro Tip
For June Pride, take DART to Akard or St. Paul station — it's the easiest way in and out. After the parade, walk a few blocks away from Main Street before calling a rideshare to avoid surge pricing at the epicenter.
Weather Warning
June in Dallas is serious heat. Average highs hit 91–95°F with humidity pushing the heat index above 100°F. This is not optional — you MUST prepare:
- Drink water constantly. Dehydration sneaks up fast in Texas heat
- Wear sunscreen. The festival runs 11 AM to 10 PM — you'll be in direct sun for hours
- Dress light. Breathable fabrics, light colors, comfortable shoes
- Bring a hat and sunglasses. Shade at the parks may be limited
- Take breaks. Duck into air-conditioned spaces (restaurants, shops, DART stations) throughout the day
- The parade is at sunset — by 7 PM it'll be cooler, but don't burn yourself out during the day
Pro Tip
June heat in Dallas is no joke — heat index can exceed 100°F. Hydrate before you feel thirsty, take shade breaks, and pace your day. The parade is at sunset when temperatures drop, so save your energy for the main event.

When is Dallas Pride 2026?
Dallas has two Pride celebrations in 2026. The main Dallas Pride Festival and first-ever nighttime parade is on Saturday, June 6, 2026 in downtown Dallas. Pride in Dallas on Cedar Springs runs September 13–20, 2026, with the Michael Doughman Parade on Sunday, September 20.
Is the Dallas Pride Festival free?
Yes — the Dallas Pride Festival of Rainbows on June 6 is free to attend across all four downtown parks (Main Street Garden, Pacific Plaza, Harwood Park, and Pegasus Plaza). General festival areas are free. VIP parade viewing at Pegasus Plaza is separately ticketed. The parade itself is free to watch from anywhere along Main Street.
Where is the Dallas Pride Parade route?
The 2026 parade marches down Main Street through downtown Dallas from 7:00 to 9:00 PM — the first-ever nighttime parade. The route connects the four festival parks. Check dallaspride.org for the final route map as the date approaches.
What is the Dallas Pride nighttime parade?
New for 2026 — Dallas's first-ever sunset/nighttime Pride parade. Starting at 7:00 PM and running until 9:00 PM, over 120 entries including lighted floats, bands, and marching groups parade down Main Street through downtown. The after-dark format makes for a dramatic visual spectacle with illuminated costumes and neon displays.
What's the difference between Dallas's two Pride events?
Dallas Pride (June 6) is the big citywide celebration — downtown festival, nighttime parade, tens of thousands of attendees. Pride in Dallas (September 13–20) is the neighborhood celebration on Cedar Springs — a week of bar events culminating in a community parade through the gayborhood. Both are worth attending. June is bigger; September is more local and intimate.
How do I get to Dallas Pride downtown?
Take DART Light Rail to Akard or St. Paul station — both are close to the festival parks. Day passes are $6. Rideshare from Oak Lawn/Cedar Springs is about 10 minutes. Driving is fine — downtown has abundant garage and surface lot parking. Use the ParkMobile app for meters.
What should I wear to Dallas Pride?
Light, breathable clothing — June in Dallas averages 91–95°F. Comfortable walking shoes are essential (you'll be on your feet across four parks all day). Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a refillable water bottle, and a portable charger. The nighttime parade starts at 7 PM when it's cooler, but the daytime festival is in full Texas sun.
Where should I stay for Dallas Pride?
For June Pride (downtown): Uptown is the sweet spot — walkable to both downtown and Cedar Springs. The Canopy by Hilton and Le Meridien are solid options. For September Pride (Cedar Springs): Stay in Oak Lawn. The Warwick Melrose Dallas is the most "in the gayborhood" hotel, a 3-minute walk from Round-Up Saloon. Book 4–6 weeks early for best rates.
Is Dallas safe for LGBTQ+ travelers during Pride?
Yes. Dallas is one of the most LGBTQ-friendly cities in the South, and Pride events have strong security, community infrastructure, and city support. Texas state politics are hostile, but Dallas city proper is protective and affirming. Oak Lawn is an established, visible gayborhood where you'll feel welcome and safe.
