Pride is not a weekend, it's a season — and in the US it runs from late March to mid-November. Most calendars only cover June, which is how people end up missing Atlanta in October or Tampa in March.

This is every Pride weekend we track, with dates. It's the calendar we maintain for our own event pages, so it updates as organizers confirm.

How to read these dates: each entry is when that Pride begins — most are multi-day festivals, and the parade is usually one part of a longer programme, often on the closing Sunday. So a date here is the start of the celebration, not necessarily the march. If you're travelling specifically for the parade, open the linked event page to confirm which day it falls on.

Why Pride isn't all in June

June is Stonewall's anniversary month, and the largest celebrations cluster there — NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and Denver all land in the last weekend of June. But cities schedule around three practical things instead:

  • Weather. Phoenix and Palm Springs celebrate in October and November because June is unbearable. Tampa goes in March for the same reason.
  • Not competing. Regional neighbours deliberately stagger — San Diego takes mid-July, Long Beach takes May, so Southern California has a Pride nearly every month.
  • Local anniversaries. Some cities anchor to their own movement history rather than to Stonewall.

The upside for travellers: you can attend a Pride almost any month of the year.

Pro Tip

Hotels in Pride host cities routinely triple in price and impose three-night minimums. If you're travelling to one, book as soon as the date is confirmed — for the big June weekends that means the previous autumn.

Still to come in 2026

Twenty-four Prides remain on the 2026 calendar after July, and the autumn run is genuinely underrated — better weather, smaller crowds, cheaper flights.

Pro Tip

If you want a Pride without the June crush: **Atlanta in October** is one of the largest in the country and runs in ideal weather, and **Palm Springs in November** closes the season with a genuinely distinctive desert-resort atmosphere.

Picking a Pride, by what you want

  • Biggest crowds — NYC, whose march runs down Fifth Avenue and draws the largest turnout in the country; Chicago and San Francisco close behind.
  • Best beach Pride — Key West in early June, Provincetown the same weekend, Rehoboth in mid-July.
  • Best resort-town Pride — Palm Springs in November, Puerto Vallarta in May.
  • Best value — the autumn calendar generally. October Prides in Atlanta, Phoenix and Orlando cost a fraction of the June weekends.
  • Black Pride — DC Black Pride over Memorial Day weekend is the largest; Atlanta Black Pride runs Labor Day weekend, Chicago Black Pride in early July.
  • Leather Pride — Palm Springs Leather Pride in late October, Atlanta Leather Pride in July.

Frequently asked questions about Pride weekend

When is Pride weekend?

There is no single Pride weekend. In the US the season runs from late March through mid-November, with the heaviest concentration in June — and the single busiest weekend being the last one in June, when NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver and Toronto all celebrate within a few days.

Why is Pride in June?

June marks the anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, which began on June 28, 1969 in New York. The first marches in 1970 were held to commemorate it, and June became the default. Cities that celebrate outside June usually do so because of summer heat, to avoid clashing with a neighbouring city, or to mark their own local anniversary.

Which US city has the biggest Pride?

New York City, which draws the largest turnout in the country and hosted WorldPride in 2019 for Stonewall's 50th. Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles are the next largest. Among autumn Prides, Atlanta is the biggest.

When should I book travel for Pride weekend?

For a major June Pride, book lodging the previous autumn — rates rise sharply and three-night minimums are common. For autumn Prides, two to three months ahead is usually enough. Flights into Pride host cities also spike, so lock those with the hotel.

Are there Pride celebrations outside of summer?

Yes, and several are large. Atlanta, Phoenix, Orlando, Las Vegas, Honolulu and Savannah all celebrate in October; Palm Springs runs in early November; Tampa goes in March and Miami Beach in April. Hot-climate cities deliberately avoid summer.

What's the difference between Pride and Black Pride?

Black Pride events centre Black LGBTQ+ community, culture and organizing, and are typically held on separate weekends from the main city Pride. DC Black Pride over Memorial Day weekend is the oldest and largest; Atlanta Black Pride runs Labor Day weekend.

I'm Robbie, the founder of Out x Out. I'm from Minneapolis, though I'm spending 2026 building this community from the road — somewhere between South America and Asia. The idea for Out x Out came from a trip to Berlin, where the gay nightlife calendar was years ahead of ours: you could see not just where to go out, but which night to go — so naturally I wanted that kind of insider info for every city in the US (and beyond... eventually). I'm more of a behind-the-scenes type, but the whole point of this is connection: I'd take one real one over a hundred surface-level ones, and I'm trying to build that for the community, city by city.
