HOW VOLLEYBALL IS ORGANISED
Gay volleyball leagues in the US largely sit under the North American Gay Volleyball Association (NAGVA), which lists 29 current member leagues and more than 7,000 current members on its site.
NAGVA rates players into levels of play and runs a tournament calendar across the US, Canada and Mexico; its site listed events in Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York, Sacramento, San Juan and Washington, DC for the last two months of 2026 when we checked. NAGVA’s own list includes member leagues in nine of the ten launch cities: Gotham Volleyball League (New York), the Athletic Alliance of Chicago, LAVO League (Los Angeles), Balls of Furry (San Francisco), Seattle Volleyball Club, Hotlanta Volleyball Association, the Colorado Gay Volleyball Association (Denver), DC Pride Volleyball League and CBVA (Boston); Philadelphia had none listed when we checked. Not every NAGVA-listed league is in the table: some had no current season on their own site.
Several multi-sport organisations (Stonewall Sports, OutLoud Sports, Pride Sports, Queer City Sports) also run recreational indoor or grass volleyball seasons that are not NAGVA leagues; those rows show the organisation in the body column.
